The topic of loose Flint Screws has come up in the LighterTricks.com forums. I thought I’d combine a few of the solutions in one place for you.

A- Teflon Tape- This stuff works great. When you put this stuff on wrap it around the screw twice, any more and the screw will bind. You can get this stuff at any hardware store.

B- Bee’s Wax- I’ve used this before on a Zippo. It works great. Just scrap the threads of the Flint Screw on the Bee’s wax. When the wax builds up in the threads, screw it in and your done.

C- Dime- This is what I usually use. The milled grove in the Flint Screw is the same width as the US Dime. Give the Flint Screw a light tweak every time you change the Flint and you don’t have to worry about it backing out.

Enjoy,
