Shorty!

This is the project that started all of this. All the other Mods and this website.

I was looking at websites that had Zippos and I came across a Vietnam Zippo that

was cut short. There was no story, just a picture. So I spent the next couple of days searching

the internet about this little creature. I did find a site with a short explanation. It told of how

soldiers would do this Mod to help save weight and space. Now I don't know how true this

is. There's not much weight being cut out. But I guess every little bit counts.

These little guys are cut by hand using nothing more than a hacksaw, file and sandpaper

to smooth out the edges. I've put about ten of these up on EBay. Every once in a while

I'll see someone else's attempt. I got one once and the finish work was crap. When I

emailed the person about it. He refused to email me back and refund my money.

My work is better than that. NO gaps between the Cap and Body. No scratches on

the body. The cut part on the body looks factory. I spend more time in the finish work

than the time it takes to cut it. It takes me about 45 minutes to cut one Shorty. 30 minutes

of that is just finish work. Sanding with three different grades of sandpaper. Plus I hold

a Guarantee, If you don't like it, I'll refund your money!

I've cut over a 100 of these now. Below are some pictures of them.
